Terms of Service

These terms set out the agreement between you and Scout Sport when you use our platform. Please read them carefully. By being invited to, creating, or using a Scout Sport account, you agree to these terms. If you are a parent or guardian setting up an account for a player under 18, you accept these terms on their behalf and on your own.
1. About Scout Sport
Scout Sport is an invite-only, evidence-led player-evaluation platform. Verified evaluators assess players across real matches, building an evidence record over time. Verified clubs and scouts can discover players based on that evidence. Scout Sport provides the platform and the evaluation framework — it does not act as an agent, intermediary or representative for any player, club or scout.
2. What Scout Sport Does — and Does Not — Promise
Honesty is at the core of how we operate. We want every player and parent to understand exactly what Scout Sport is before they join.
- We do not promise or guarantee trials, contracts, signings, selection, representation, or that any player will be scouted, contacted or offered anything by a club or scout.
- Payment does not buy access, ranking, visibility or a better evaluation. A subscription gives a player a place on the platform and an evidence pathway — nothing more. Evaluations are recorded on merit, based on real performance.
- What we offer is a genuine, honest opportunity to be evaluated fairly and, where a player chooses, to be seen by verified clubs and scouts on the strength of real evidence.
- Outcomes in football depend on many factors outside our control, and we never suggest otherwise.
3. Eligibility & Invitations
Access to Scout Sport is by invitation. Accounts may be created by players (aged 18 or over) or, for players under 18, by a parent or guardian. You must provide accurate information and you are responsible for keeping it up to date. We may decline or withdraw access where these terms are not met.
4. Players Under 18
Protecting young players is central to how we operate. Where a player is under 18:
- A parent or guardian must set up and control the account, and accepts these terms on the player's behalf.
- All communication relating to the player goes through the parent, guardian or club — never directly with the child.
- The parent or guardian can turn off the player's visibility at any time and can hide, withdraw or request deletion of the player's data and footage.
- Guardians are responsible for supervising the player's use of the platform.
Our handling of personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
5. Your Account
- Keep your login details secure and do not share your account. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Provide accurate information and do not impersonate anyone or misrepresent a player's details or eligibility.
- Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
6. Subscriptions, Payments & Trials
- Access to a player profile is provided on a subscription. The current price, billing period and any free-trial terms are shown at sign-up and at checkout before you pay.
- Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. By subscribing you also agree to Stripe's terms.
- Where a free trial is offered, you may be asked for payment details, and the subscription continues at the stated price after the trial unless cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future billing. Unless stated otherwise or required by law, payments already made are not refunded for the remainder of a billing period.
- We may change pricing from time to time. Any change is notified in advance and applies only to future billing periods.
7. Footage, Content & Intellectual Property
- Players (or their guardians) are responsible for ensuring they have the right to upload any footage or images, and that doing so does not breach anyone else's rights or any club or competition rules.
- You keep ownership of your own content. By uploading it, you grant Scout Sport a licence to host it and to make it available within the platform — to the verified evaluator network and to verified clubs and scouts — in line with the player's visibility settings.
- You can hide or request removal of your content at any time, subject to reasonable processing time and any records we must keep by law.
- The Scout Sport name, brand, platform and evaluation framework remain our property and may not be copied or reused without permission.
8. Evaluators
- Evaluators join on a voluntary basis. Being an evaluator is not employment, and Scout Sport is not a recruitment or placement agency.
- Evaluators must assess players honestly and on merit, follow our safeguarding rules, and keep platform information confidential.
- Evaluators must not use the platform to solicit payment from players or families, or to make promises about outcomes on Scout Sport's behalf.
9. Acceptable Use & Safeguarding
To keep Scout Sport safe and fair, you agree not to:
- Contact, attempt to contact, or arrange to meet a player under 18 directly, or seek a minor's personal contact details. All contact goes through the guardian or club.
- Upload unlawful, harmful, misleading or offensive content, or anyone else's personal data without the right to do so.
- Misuse, copy, scrape or share footage, evaluations or other players' information outside the platform.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access, disrupt the platform, or use it other than as intended.
If you have any safeguarding concern — or believe a player under 18 is on the platform without proper guardian consent — contact us immediately at scout.sport@outlook.com.
10. Suspension & Termination
- You can close your account at any time.
- We may suspend or remove an account that breaches these terms, poses a safeguarding risk, or misuses the platform. Where appropriate we will give notice, but we may act immediately to protect players or the platform.
- On closure, we handle any remaining data in line with our Privacy Policy.
11. Availability & Changes to the Platform
We work to keep Scout Sport running well, but we do not guarantee it will always be available or error-free. We may update, change or withdraw features as the platform develops.
12. Liability
- Scout Sport provides the platform and evaluation framework, but does not control football outcomes and gives no guarantee of trials, selection or any result.
- To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, or for decisions made by clubs, scouts or other third parties.
- Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
- Nothing in these terms affects the statutory rights of a consumer.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website, with the "last updated" date shown at the top. If a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
